ABOUT COACH FERENC

Coach Ferenc (pronounced “Fahdee”) discovered his love for helping children achieve their full potential, while working as a martial arts instructor throughout the 1990’s-2000’s. He witnessed first hand how encouraging confidence and a disciplined mindset, combined with his unique ability to break down the individual components of a technique, could transform his students’ abilities.  

When his first child showed a passion for soccer at an early age, he retired from teaching martial arts in the evening and began to relentlessly study the “beautiful game,” to help his child succeed at it. After other parents noticed his son’s unique soccer skills in kindergarten, they began to ask that Coach Ferenc start coaching teams and running soccer clinics to help their children, and he gladly agreed.  

His first intramural team of 7 year olds quickly became a local power house, playing up 1-2 years in their leagues to keep it competitive. Multiple members of the team then moved to the top travel team while his son (who was too young to try out), also made the top area team after ignoring the age requirement and just showing up to impress the coaches. The Director of the club approached Coach Ferenc after learning of his work with the boys and asked if he would be willing to join as an assistant coach for them. Although Coach Ferenc had a day job leading a team of a dozen sales people for a Fortune 500 company, he agreed because he knew he was uniquely positioned to help these kids. This same group of boys went on to win multiple EPYSA Indoor and Outdoor State Cups as well as high school state championships.  

As his son progressed to better and better teams and ultimately into an MLS Academy, Coach Ferenc continued to be asked to help the other teammates and he always obliged. As a result, he has enjoyed helping develop multiple players that have successfully trialed overseas, secured spots in MLS Academies and even the U.S. Youth National team. His son eventually decided he could actually be trained better if he had more training time with Dad/Coach Ferenc, so he became the first player in the history of the nearby MLS Academy to decline an all expenses paid invitation to join the Academy. As fate would have it, 4 years later his son’s local MLS Next team would face that same Academy in the semi finals of the MLS Next Cup (which ultimately crowns the National Champion of the country). His son would play a dominant role in securing the 4-1 victory and then would go on to score the opening goal/game winner in the 2024 MLS Next Cup National Championship Final.  

With his son firmly on a solid path, Coach Ferenc began to consider what having evening free time would be like, but the Director of the travel club now asked if he could get involved on the girls side. Again he followed his passion and agreed. He quickly established himself as the most engaging Coach for their girls “Academy” (the youngest players) and also began to run their seasonal clinics. As his first Academy cohort moved on to their next season and coach, they were abandoned by their coach mid season. Coach Ferenc stepped in to take over the faltering team and quickly turned them around, ultimately taking the team to the State Cup Final while also winning a quarter final game while down a player the entire game. He discovered  the girls’ side of the game was also in desperate need of someone willing and able to teach them the same concepts he had taught the boys.  Again, parents started reaching out and asking if he’d privately train their children, and he found particular joy in helping players discover their full potential, while proving coaches wrong that had already written these kids off as not being good enough. 

Today, Coach Ferenc trains around 100 players while he has NEVER advertised. All of his players were referred until his website was launched in June 2025. Along this amazing journey, he has discovered he has an incredible ability to develop children, by identifying their unique needs and communication styles and always KNOWING his players can accomplish anything they put their minds to. His passion is creating the turn around stories… Helping the players that have so much hiding under the surface and just need the right experience to unleash it. He enjoys repeatedly proving the established U.S. youth soccer system wrong, and above all else, being loyal to his players to win, together.
